Noise
We've been having a few VOLUME conversations at Gateway. Everyone has an opinion and every opinion can be backed with some type of personal truth. Here are a few...
1) the louder the better. It's Rock N Roll!
2) Loud music hurts my ears (we do provide ear plugs in the lobby)
3) The music should be loud enough that the people around me can't hear me sing. Holding back distracts me and it may distract others if they hear me (Psalm 66:1) "Make a joyful Noise"
4) I like to hear others sing out b/c it helps me feel unified. Plus we are (Psalm 66:1) "All ye lands" right?
Anyhow, I am sure that I didn't cover all schools of thought on worship VOLUME or NOISE but these are a few and this post gave me the opportunity to put up this picture.
Let me know what you think.

In the words of David Crowder:
"When we lift our voices louder still, can you hear us, can you feel? We love you Lord, ..."
Actually I like variety, but I lean toward the joyful noise. Even when I'm somber, I'm crying out to God ... so either way, it can be loud.
When I'm alone, I prefer my quiet time with God. But, when I'm with a group, I love the raising of our voices!
